I love what the Agora community has given artists and I wanted to test drive the Gamma rig! I love animating quadrupeds I wanted to do a short and sweet animation test! I animated this shot in Maya then used Blender's Cycles to render. I used a bunch of sounds from Zapsplat and then composited and added audio in Davinci Resolve!
While animating I utilized reference, but kept in mind the size of my feline and the weight it has compared to the reference I found. Plus snow leopards have very large tails which they use heavily while traversing rugged terrain and Gamma has a tail that is similar proportion to a house cat. While the video referece was very valuable I still pushed and pulled poses to get the correct feeling I was going for!
Final Result of animation test using Gamma rig. I animated this over the course of 3 days and then I did set dressing, setting up shaders, rendering ect... in 2 days!
I utilized Maya for animation And Blender's Cycles for Rendering
I utilized these two clips as reference. I envisioned Gamma to be smaller than a snow leopard yet more muscular than your average house cat! I kept that in mind while animating the weight of Gamma!
